Calvin's anti-girl club, G.R.O.S.S (Get Rid Of Slimy Girls) had everything a club should have - fancy titles, defendable and secret headquarters and distinct uniforms. In the case of the G.R.O.S.S, the distinct uniform consisted of a thin narrow newspaper hat (known as a chapeau). Of course, everyone wants a G.R.O.S.S hat like Calvin's and now there is an simplified five-step guide complete with beautiful colour hand drawn illustrations :) on how to fold your own - yay!! Step 1: Obtain a blank sheet of rectangular (not square) paper - Newspaper works well, especially if you are stealing it before anyone else has read it ;). Step 2: Orientate the paper so that it is like the illustration in step 1 (ie. the height of the paper is longer than its width) and then fold the paper in half from top edge to the bottom edge. Step 3: Take the top left corner of the paper and fold the tip so that it reaches the middle of the page as shown in the diagram. Repeat for the other corner. Step 4: After Step 3, your piece of paper should look something like the illustration on the left. Step 5: Take the bottom flap and fold it up (see illustration - it's just too darn hard to explain in words). Repeat for the other flap. Step 6: If you did everything correctly, your piece of paper should look like the illustration on the left (although hopefully a bit more three-dimensional). You are know ready to start up your own chapter of the G.R.O.S.S club!

It received a lot of updates until 1999 when I 'retired' so that I could focus on other things. In 2006, I couldn't stand some of the tacky design choices I had originally made in 1995 and so re-designed the site and updated some of the content.
